The annual Harry Potter Book Night celebrated internationally each February took place in Civic Square Hastings on Wednesday 5 February, 4-7pm.

Hastings District Libraries and the Hastings City Art Gallery teamed up to host the unforgettable night themed around Harry Potter. The fun kicked off at 4.00 pm in Civic Square, Hastings, with this year’s theme of the Triwizard Tournament. Young wizards, witches and Muggles were treated to an evening of magical activities and interactive fun including;

The Great Wardini Magic Show
Create your own fire breathing Dragon
The Sorting Hat
Scavenger Hunt
Quidditch practice
Transfiguration
Magic the Gathering

Young wizards, witches and Muggles were able to enter a recreation of Mad Eye Moody’s office and talk to a moving portrait. Costumes were encouraged and the creative array did not disappoint!

Harry Potter Book Night is a free, interactive, family orientated event celebrated each year.

We may take photographs or video recordings during events and programmes which may be used in Council promotional material.
