Friends of Hastings District Libraries (FOL) are hosting a fundraising event with guest speaker Dr. Catherine Strong.
Friday, March 13th at Hastings War Memorial Library
Doors open at 6.30pm for a 7pm start
Seasoned media professional Dr Strong is often in the fray calling out fake news and advocating for more transparency in government.
Fake news, the spreading of false information, has become a major issue over the past years. Strong believes elected council and DHB members need to take more responsibility for ensuring the public are properly informed.
Dr Catherine Strong is Senior Lecturer School of Communication, Journalism and Marketing at Massey University.

FOL are an independent charitable trust that supports the Libraries in their role of providing the best library service for the community.
Fundraising efforts have enabled the Friends to sponsor a number of items for users of the libraries, purchased or subsidised via the Friends of Hastings District Libraries fundraising efforts.
