Bakers Club: A Little of What You Fancy

Bakers

On Tuesday, the 4th of November, the sweet scent of sugar and butter filled the air at Hastings Library as the Bakers Club gathered for another delightful meeting. There’s something magical about a table full of homemade bakes, especially when fifteen enthusiastic bakers bring their “A Little Bit Fancy” creations to share!

That was exactly the scene at this month’s meeting- a wonderful mix of chatter, laughter, and the unmistakable smell of freshly baked treats. Among the offerings were some absolutely perfect Macarons, and slightly less perfect but just as tasty Chocolate Lava Crackle Biscuits. As it was one member's birthday month they bought along a savoury dish in the form of Cheese Biscuits with relish, which were delicious.

As always, the club’s atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Laughter and conversation flowed as members sampled the various dishes alongside a comforting hot cuppa. Beyond the gorgeous desserts, what really makes these meetings special is the people. There’s always such a friendly, inclusive vibe, seasoned bakers happily share their secrets, and everyone leaves having learned (and eaten) something new.

By the end of the afternoon, everyone went home with a full heart and an even fuller stomach.

We wrapped up the day tossing around ideas for next month’s theme, and discussing where the best spot for our Christmas Lunch might be. Whatever we decide, one thing’s for sure- the table will be full of creativity, conversation, and a whole lot of butter.
