Temporary Rolling Closures Due to Staffing Challenges

Due to several factors, including vacancies and illnesses, Hastings District Libraries are currently experiencing low staffing levels on Saturdays.

To maintain a sustainable workload and ensure staff well-being, while also minimising disruption to customers, Libraries will be implementing rolling closures of Flaxmere and Havelock North Libraries on alternating Saturdays until Christmas.

Scheduled Closure Dates

• Flaxmere Library: 23rd November, 7th December, 21st December
• Havelock North Library: 30th November, 14th December

Both Flaxmere and Havelock North Libraries will also close for the Christmas/New Year break from 25th December to 6th January. Hastings Library hours will remain unchanged, until the advertised Christmas hours come in to effect.
