Māori Collections

Each of our three libraries has an Adult Māori Section and also a Junior Māori Section.  In Hastings War Memorial Library the Adult Māori Section has both reference and lending collections and is located on the ground level overlooking Civic Square and Ngā Pou o Heretaunga.

These collections contain items of cultural, historical, social and language significance for all of Aotearoa.   Emphasis is given to any material of a local nature, particularly Ngāti Kahungunu.

Young Adult Collections

All three libraries have Young Adult Collections and elsewhere in the library are CDs, DVDs, Games, Magazines and of course books that teens are welcome to borrow.

YA members have full access to the rest of the library.

Junior Collections

All three libraries have great collections of children's items, including books, puzzles, CDs, DVDs, cassettes and talking books.

Parents - you are welcome to ask the Children's Librarians for books that best suits your child's age and stage in reading.
