International Children's Book Day is celebrated every year on 2 April, which is also Hans Christian Andersen's birthday. It is a special day where we celebrate children's books and encourage children to read. We have fantastic books from all over the world in our libraries, in lots of different forms and even languages. 

Celebrate International Children's Book Day 

Here are some ways you can celebrate International Children's Book Day with your library: 

  • Visit us and take home a huge stack of books, magazines, audiobooks or DVDs.
  • Browse the latest new books and audiobooks for kids at each of our libraries.
  • Watch and listen to a story onStory Box Library.
  • Check out our book reviews and reading round-ups on our blog.
  • eBooks or eAudiobooks from our collections.  You can borrow eBooks and eAudiobooks anywhere, anytime.
  • Check out our bookliststo find some new books and authors on a particular topic.
