Rhythm & RhymesHDL Rhythm and Rhymes 500

Early literacy, music & movement for little ones!

Rhythm & Rhymes is an early music, movement and literacy programme for 0-2 year olds.

Sessions are held at Havelock North Library every Tuesday morning from 10-10.30am.

Providing rich language experiences through song, rhythm and movement, it also gives opportunity to practice both gross and fine motor skills.

Rhythm and songs extend vocabulary opportunities by introducing new language. Nursery rhymes, either spoken or sung, are short, simple and are easily learned. The repetition of material strengthens pathways in the developing brain, supporting learning and improving reactions.

No matter what stage your 0-2 year old is at, they can participate at a level that suits them.

For parents and caregivers this programme provides a social outlet while also being a one-on-one learning and sharing time - caregivers are encouraged to fully engage with their child throughout the session.

We may take photographs or video recordings during events and programmes which may be used in Council promotional material.
