Te Wiki o te Reo Māori at Hastings District Libraries

Rāhoroi 10th ki te Rāhoroi 22nd o Mahuru

  • Iwitoi Toimairangi Collective presents the Toi kaha, kia kaha exhibition, consisting of 20 art pieces highlighting Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori, displayed within Hastings District Libraries from 10th-22nd Mahuru 2018

Rāhina – Rāmere 10-14th o Mahuru

  • Whakataukī/Kīwaha/Waiata o te ra
  • Kohikohi mai-Kaitiaki pukapuka Māori returns to the Adult Māori Section of Hastings Library. 
  • 10.30 - 11.30am Te Wā Pakiwaitara mā ngā pakeke- reading to Adults sessions, venues Hastings and Flaxmere Libraries Adult Māori Section. 
  • 9.30am - 5.45pm Maker Space table- Colour and create a design or kupu then add to the display area in the Junior Māori Section venue Hastings District Libraries. 
  • 9.30am - 5.45pm Tepu kēmu- play a game of cards, find a word or knuckle bones, the challenge is to try and korero māori whilst there. Adult Māori Section venues Hastings and Flaxmere Libraries.
  • 11am - 2pm Wero pānui mā ngā tamariki, Storytime readings and listening challenges for School children, wero is to read in Te Reo book.-venue Junior Section Hastings Library.

Rāhina, te 10 o Mahuru

  • Whakataukī/Kīwaha/Waiata o te ra 
  • 10am - 12pm Kohikohi mai Kaitiaki pukapuka available for research queries Adult Māori Section in Hastings Library. 
  • 1 - 2pm Iwitoi Toimairangi Collective artists workshop- kōwhaiwhai design and korero, venue Hastings Library. 
  • 3 - 4pm Maker Space - Colour and create a design or kupu then add it to the display backdrop in the Junior Māori Section.

Rātū, te 11 o Mahuru

  • Whakataukī/Kīwaha/Waiata o te ra 
  • 10.30 - 11.30am Te Wā Pakiwaitara mā ngā pakeke, is reading to adults I te reo Māori-venue Adult Māori Section, Hastings Library,1030-1130
  • 11.00am - 2.00pm Wero pānui mā ngā tamariki, Storytime readings from the New Zealand Book Awards Te Kura Pounamu Finalist for School children, wero is to read in Te Reo book.-venue Junior Section Hastings Library.

  • Whakataukī/Kīwaha/Waiata o te ra 
  • 10.30 - 11am Te wā pakiwaitara mā ngā tamariki paku-venue Hastings and Havelock North libraries.
  • 11.00am - 2.00pm Wero pānui mā ngā tamariki-venue Hastings Library.

Rāpare, te 13 o Mahuru 

  • Whakataukī/Kīwaha/Waiata o te ra 
  • 10.30 - 11am Te wā pakiwaitara mā ngā tamariki paku-venue Flaxmere library.
  • 11.00am - 2.00pm Wero pānui mā ngā tamariki-venue Hastings Library.

  • Whakataukī/Kīwaha/Waiata o te ra 
  • 10.30 - 11.30am Te wā pakiwaitara mā ngā pakeke. Te Wā Pakiwaitara mā ngā pakeke, is reading to adults, sit within the Adult Māori Section bring a warm blanket there will be sugar free refreshments to relax, enjoy and listen. -venue Flaxmere Library.
  • 11.00am - 2.00pm Wero pānui mā ngā tamariki-venue Hastings Library.

Iwitoi Toimairangi Toi kaha, kia kaha

Iwitoi Toimairangi Collective presents the Toi kaha, kia kaha exhibition consisting of 20 art pieces highlighting Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori, each day a word will be displayed to encouraged observers useage of Te Reo Māori. Hastings District Libraries from 10th - 22nd o Mahuru, 2018.

Toi kaha, kia kaha exhibition workshop

The Toi kaha, kia kaha exhibition will hold a short power-point presentation and kowhaiwhai workshop on Rāhina,10th Mahuru. Their ideas will set the theme for the display wall in the Junior Māori section. Throughout the week the Maker Space area provides items for children and adults to colour or create then contribute to the display. Hastings District Libraries from 10th-14th o Mahuru, 2018.
