Some of our whānau lost loved ones, while others faced unimaginable challenges in rebuilding their lives. As we continue to recover, it’s vital to acknowledge the strength and resilience that has defined our response to this tragedy.

At Hastings Libraries, we believe that sharing our stories is an essential part of healing and preserving our community's history. Photographs are powerful tools that help us reflect on our experiences and ensure future generations understand the impact of Cyclone Gabrielle.

By documenting this shared experience with empathy and care, we can provide a valuable record of our community’s strength and perseverance. We encourage you to contribute your photos and be part of this important effort to preserve our collective memory.
