Have Your Party at Hastings Library

Host your child's next birthday party at Hastings Library! We provide the venue, and a range of activities for your partygoers.Choose from several themes that will make your party a time to remember! You can have your party during opening hours or after hours.

We provide the use of tables & chairs, and a party experience of your choice led by our Party Coordinator.

The party parent is responsible for cups, plates, refreshments, decorations and supervision of children. But we even clean up afterwards!

Recommended for younger children 18 months - 6 years old

Themed storytime and craft party

Includes a 30 minute themed story time and craft activity. Choose from one of our popular themes or let us know if you have something else in mind.

Nerf Wars

Bring your own Nerf gun and bullets for an action packed birthday party at the library.

Please note:

  • Nerf Wars can only be held after hours
  • Nerf darts are foam and fairly harmless, however your party attendees may choose to bring along safety eyewear. 
Treasure Hunt

Find all the hidden x marks the spots within the library and then sit down to a themed craft activity.

Please note: Treasure Hunt parties can only be held after hours.

Recommended for older children 7-10 years old

Craft Party

Includes 2 themed craft activities for older kids to have fun with. 
Choose from one of our popular themes or let us know if you have something else in mind.

Game on!

Let us provide the venue and a collection of both plugged and unplugged games for kids to enjoy in a fun lounge style setup.  We can even bring out the lego!

Nerf Wars

Availability 

Party Bookings will only be considered for the times listed as available. 

Setup and included services

The Library will provide the use of tables & chairs.
Party Parents are responsible for organising any other needs such as plates and cups, decorations, catering, extra games and crafts, and the supervision of children attending.
Themed storytime and craft parties will also include (approximately) 30 minute storytime and craft led by our Party Coordinator.
Nerf Parties will have a number of games facilitated by our Party Coordinator. Nerf parties require you to bring your own guns and bullets. The library does not supply these.
Treasure hunt parties will include a treasure hunt and craft led by our Party Coordinator.
For gaming parties, we will have a selection of games on offer all set up by our Party Coordinator. Please discuss with us further.

Confirmation

Requests for bookings are only valid if made via the booking form. Once the booking request has been reviewed, confirmation of the booking will be emailed.

Payment

Payment must be made in full in advance or on the day of the booking. An invoice will be emailed once the booking is confirmed.

Cancellation

If your needs change and the booking is no longer required the booking must be cancelled. This can be done by emailing the library confirmation account or ringing 871 5000. Charges may apply is a cancellation is not made.

Health & Safety

All exits must be kept clear and free of any obstacles at all times during the booked period – this is a health & safety obligation on all users. In the event of an emergency the user is required to follow the instructions of library staff. 
All occupants must regard the continuous sounding of the fire alarms as a genuine emergency and must take the appropriate actions to evacuate the premises. Occupants must also evacuate if verbally advised by library staff.
