We provide a hassle free venue and an action packed event – choose from a Nerf Party or a Games Party
Birthday parties are facilitated by a Party Coordinator who will organize a series of games over the two hour time period. Parents can hang back in the relative safety of the Activities Area while the kids take over the library proper.
The timetable is flexible so let us know when you would like to stop for food or cake and we can make that happen.

Please note:
Nerf Party bookings will only be considered for the times listed as available and these can only be held out of hours.
Nerf Party participants must bring their own Nerf guns and bullets – these are not supplied by the library.
The library will provide the use of tables and chairs and a water station will be put out with cups for up to thirty party goers.
Party parents are responsible for organising any other needs such as catering, plates and cups, decorations, and extra games or crafts if required or wanted.
Party parents are also responsible for the supervision of children attending.
If your needs change and the booking is no longer required the booking must be cancelled. This can be done by emailing the library at hdlbookings@hdc.govt.nz or ringing 871 5000. Charges may apply if a cancellation is not made.
All exits must be kept clear and free of any obstacles at all times during the booked period – this is a health & safety obligation on all users. In the event of an emergency the user is required to follow the instructions of library staff.
All occupants must regard the continuous sounding of the fire alarms as a genuine emergency and must take the appropriate actions to evacuate the premises. Occupants must also evacuate if verbally advised by library staff.
