On February 18, we began a trial of extended opening hours at Havelock North Library from 10am – 1pm on Sundays.
This was a six-month trial and, while it has gone well, it is also clear that further operational investment would be required to make this change permanent.
As such, the decision has been made to cease opening on Sundays from August 18, while we weigh up this enhanced offering against our other council priorities, and the current challenging economic environment both for council and our ratepayers.
Sunday afternoon open hours at the Hastings Library remain the same at this time. For district open hours see https://www.hastingslibraries.co.nz/
