While looking for an e-book on Libby I came across What the Hell Did I Just Read by David Wong. The author is not actually David Wong but the story is told from David’s perspective. The author is in fact Jason Pargin and this is the third book in the series after John Dies at the End and This Book Is Full of Spiders.
So one of the good things about e-books is you can read a sample, and from there you can make your decision to get it out or place a hold. I read the sample and decided it was my sort of crazy. As it wasn’t already out, I proceeded to borrow it.
The story is set in an undisclosed small American town where strange things are afoot. Children are going missing and a strange creature is seen flying in the skies. What will the unlikely trio of David, John and Amy make of it? How will it bring about the end of the world and can their rather incompetent bumblings help or hinder?
I suspect if you have read the other books you will be more familiar with the characters and their ways but this book is fine as a standalone read. I enjoyed it enough to want to track down the rest of the series. Hastings District Libraries has this in e-Book and book formats
