Virtual Wine, Books & More - a Different Kind of Book Group Experience

Regular visitors to this blog will have noted the varied and wonderful books discussed at the Wine, Books & More book group. It’s a happy band of keen readers and books are devoured monthly ready to share at the next Tuesday evening gathering.

But getting out to book groups may not be everyone’s cup of tea (or glass or wine). Some of us have other commitments, or transport issues, so coming to the library isn’t so easy. Or maybe you want to keep the discussion going through the month.

In that case you might like to drop by the Virtual Wine, Books & More book group to see what everyone’s talking about there. The group meets via Discord, so you’ll need to set up an account, but it’s as easy as a few simple steps.

You can get started by visiting the library webpage: hastingslibraries.co.nz. Then either type in “Virtual Wine, Books & More” in the search bar at the top of the page, or scroll down to Your Community near the bottom and click the link for Programmes, then Virtual Wine, Books and More.

Follow the prompts and you’ll soon be in the group. We have around fifty members and the chat never stops. If you’re doing the Turn Up the Heat winter reading programme, one of the challenges is to recommend something on the Discord site. The perfect excuse to pop in and give Virtual Wine, Books & More a try.
