Let's Celebrate Geography Awareness Week with New Zealand Geographic

You may have seen the gloriously glossy, beautifully illustrated NZ Geographic magazine in the library. But did you know you can also access this magazine digitally with your library card? Discover the latest edition, currently the November/December 2023 issue, as well as articles from previously published editions, even as far back as 1989.

The online edition is curated so that you can search for articles by topic, browse stories, or watch documentary videos. There’s a showcase of great photographs, including the photographer of the year finalists and winners. There are audio stories too – now that’s something you can’t get with a print copy.

The articles are divided into news articles and opinion stories and there are write-ups on recently published books of a geographical nature. There are links to the mag’s facebook, twitter and Instagram sites as well.

The digital magazine looks great on a desktop pc, but I also enjoyed browsing its content on my phone. Accessible at home as well as at the library, you’re never short of interesting reading matter wherever you are. If you’ve got some wifi or data, it’s ready for you on your device. The articles were quick to load too.
